Jill’s journalistic career spans 63 years in New Zealand and overseas. The last 50 have been spent in Rotorua where she’s worked for NZ Truth, Radio Geyserland, Sunday News and the Rotorua Daily Post as chief reporter then deputy editor. For the past 14 years she’s been a contract journalist for Press Association, Australian Associated Press and other news agencies. For 12 years she supplied the Post with weekly profiles featuring local people.
In 2015 she was awarded a Queen’s Service Medal for services to journalism and the community. Jill is assisted by Rotorua raised and educated journalist Catherine Watson as copy editor.
